Effective Leadership Communication: How Secondary Education Leaders Can Use Communication to Successfully Lead their Schools
Effective communication has always been a key ingredient to any successful site leadership team. Leading a school site and achieving your site goals requires proactive planning and an effective, multifaceted set of communication strategies. This is especially true for secondary education leaders. The issues and needs facing secondary students are often exponentially more complex and difficult than in earlier grades. This two part workshop is designed for secondary site leaders to build trust and develop their leadership voice in their school community. Participants will receive practical tools and best practices they can take back to their school sites via an interactive, “hands on” presentation.

Part One (8:30 - 9:30 a.m.): Developing an effective communication strategy and matching it to your site plan and goals in order to “brand” your school.

Part Two (9:45 - 10:45 a.m.): Using your communication strategies to foster positive school culture(s), build trust and confidence in your leadership, and deal with unexpected and sometimes tragic events.
